Drummer Spotlight: 혜성 from Pia

It’s a shame that, while there is some fine drumming on Waterfalls (of which I’ll be reviewing shortly), Hye-Seung’s drumming never really gets the spotlight that it did back on PIA’s ealier releases.
His style is obviously of a hip-hop/punk hybrid, but I think it’s pretty well formed, as he brings a certain jazzy style to what would otherwise be a more straightfoward Korean rock band.
I’m curious to hear him in a more aggressive rock band, as he seems to be quite creative in how he puts together rhythmic patterns and fills. I guess only time will tell.
Be sure to check out Pia’s 1st release pia@arrogantempire.xxx to hear some of his more metal-inspired drumming.
